Mzuzu Diocese Catholic Health Commission (MDCHC) is a key arm of the Diocese’s social mission, dedicated to promoting holistic health and upholding the dignity of all people, especially the poor and vulnerable. Guided by Catholic social teaching, the Department operates health facilities and community programs that aim to ensure equitable access to quality health services across the Diocese. In its efforts of ensuring the provision of quality health services, MDCHC would like to recruit the Field Officer for water project the Diocese. Job title: Field Officer (1)Report to: Project OfficerLocation: Mzuzu Qualification and Experience Diploma or Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field. At least 2 years of relevant experience working on community-based WASH or water projects. Demonstrated experience in community mobilization and capacity building. Knowledge of WASH infrastructure (e.g., boreholes, piped systems) is an added advantage. Strong interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills. Must be willing to work in remote rural communities with limited supervision. Understanding and commitment to Catholic values and principles is essential Proven work experience as a Field Officer or similar role Strong understanding of data collection methods Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of data analysis and management Ability to work with different teams and multi-task Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in harsh field conditions.
