Water For People in partnership with Chiradzulu and Chikwawa Districts Councils is implementing a two-year project titled Empowered WASH Systems at District-level in Africa Phase li (EMPOWERWASH-Africa Il) with financial support from Hilton Foundation through Africa Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA). The project aims at strengthening the capacity of the focus district councils through the utilization of an Institutional Strengthening Index tool to improve water and sanitation service delivery. Job Purpose: The officer will support the facilitation, implementation, and documentation of the WASH Institutional Strengthening Index (ISI) tool at the district level. The role involves working closely with district WASH Coordination Teams (DCT) collecting and analyzing data, facilitating stakeholder engagement processes, and supporting reporting for WASH governance strengthening. Qualification and experience Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Water Resources Management, or related field (Final year students or recent graduates encouraged to apply). Familiarity with WASH governance and institutional frameworks is an advantage. Experience in community engagement, facilitation, or participatory tools is preferred Basic research, data analysis, and reporting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English and local languages) spoken in the district. Ability to work independently, in rural environments, and with diverse teams. Knowledge, Skills, Ability Good analytical skills of business performance of both formal and informal sector Demonstrated success in project implementation. Must be flexible, able to work under tight deadlines and have excellent follow-through skills. Be a self-starter and work with limited supervision. Excellent verbal/written communications and presentation skills and good analytical skills Experience and Knowledge of Development work related issues in Malawi. Competent in use of MS Word, Excel, and a statistical analysis program (preference for SPSS or Access)
